The 5th Annual Network of Women in Media (NWMI) Meeting

The Network of Women in Media, Bangalore, is hosting the 5th annual meeting of the NWMI, scheduled for 9-11 February 2007. The three-day event will include a public meeting featuring exciting speakers and the launch of the Anupama Jayaraman Memorial Award for young women journalists. Besides film screenings, panel discussions and exchange of information and ideas, the event will provide an opportunity for media women from different parts of the country to interact, get to know each other personally, discuss a wide range of professional matters, and plan future activities.
More information about the NWMI as well as reports on past national-level meetings are available on this website. The network also has e-groups at the national and local levels to facilitate communication and debate as well as to disseminate relevant information.
As an informal, non-hierarchical, volunteer-based network, the NWMI is open to all women working in and on the media. Women journalists, journalism educators, media scholars and journalism/media students are especially welcome.
