Parami University invites applications for two full-time faculty positions in the Statistics and Data Science (SDS) program, beginning January 2026. Base: Ideally in Southeast Asia, but it can be anywhere virtually

BACKGROUND
Parami University is an undergraduate higher education institution licensed in Washington, DC. and a partner institution of Bard College, New York. Parami is also a member of the Global Higher Education Alliance for the 21st Century (GHEA21)
Parami offers an Associate of Arts (AA) degree as well as Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees in three interdisciplinary majors: Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE), Environmental and Sustainability Studies (ESS), and Statistics and Data Science (SDS).
Parami University is currently looking to fill two full-time positions within the Division of Mathematics and Science for the interdisciplinary major of Statistics and Data Science program.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Faculty at Parami are dedicated teachers in their respective disciplines, eager to share knowledge in a student-centered way. Teaching currently takes place online using state-of-the-art Canvas learning management system (LMS), and other educational technology tools, informed by Parami’s educational theory and practice. Because Parami University was created to educate students in protracted crises and developing countries such as Burma, faculty at Parami must actively apply empathy in their teaching.
Full-time faculty have the following responsibilities:
1. A regular core faculty member is expected to teach three courses per semester (i.e., six courses a year). This key task of 0.75 FTE consists of the following responsibilities:

Develop course syllabi following Parami’s guidelines and in consultation with the respective Chair;

Prepare and teach courses using designated Parami software and tools, e.g., Canvas learning management system, Zoom, etc.;

Perform student assessment and evaluation;

Incorporate feedback from peer and student feedback actively in future courses; and
-
Work with the Student Affairs team to maximize student retention.
2. A regular core faculty member is expected to participate in improving their respective academic administration for the Division and academic governance of the University as a whole. This task of 0.25 FTE consists of the following responsibilities:
Conduct and publish academic research;

Serve on academic committees (e.g., Course and Curriculum Review Committee, Internal Quality Assurance Committee);

Contribute to academic planning and programming in collaboration with the Division Chair; and

Support the Academic Department in enhancing the overall quality of education at Parami.
DURATION
January 01, 2026 – June 30, 2028 (with the possibility of extension)
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Fluency in English
- Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, or any related field
- At least 2 years of teaching experience
POSITION PREFERENCES
- Teaching experience in Southeast Asia or other developing countries
- Online teaching experience
- Record of academic research output
- Experience with collaborative projects in academic settings
- Willing to relocate to the Southeast Asian region
