EuroMalaysia2005

The "2005 Euro-Malaysia ICT Cooperation Event" (or "EuroMalaysia2005") is an event organised at the initiative of the European Commission (DG Information Society) and of MIMOS Berhad.

It is open to all European and Malaysian organisations (universities, SMEs, large companies, etc.) interested in the development of scientific and technological cooperation projects in the ICT field, and in the perspectives offered by the IST Programme.

One of the major expected outputs of EuroMalaysia2005 is a stronger participation of Malaysian organisations in future Calls for proposals of the IST Programme and, consequently, a stronger representation of Malaysian organisations in Projects, developed in partnership with European organisations, and funded by the IST Programme.

This is why the event programme is geared towards the orientation of "networking" and "match-making" rather than "conference" and "workshop" based. Organisations intending to participate are also assisted through a "search for partners" service and a "help desk".

The Programme of the "2005 Euro-Malaysia ICT Cooperation Event" has been designed to provide European and Malaysian organisations with unique opportunities to:

* Better understand how the IST Programme can support, in particular through its funding mechanism, the development of cooperation projects in the ICT field;

* Network with delegates from Europe and Malaysia and thus be in a better position to identify or strengthen cooperation projects; and

* Get support for their cooperation projects or ideas, during the event, from the European Commission and the GAPFILL Project partners (within the framework of which EuroMalaysia2005 is organised): Sigma Consultants and MIMOS Berhad.
