13th International Workshop on The Physics of Semiconductor Devices

The objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers to promote interactions and discussions on selected aspects of the physics and technology of semiconductor devices.

The first International Workshop on the Physics of Semiconductor Devices (IWPSD) was held in December 1981 at Delhi.

The main objective of this Workshop was to provide a platform to the scientists to interact and exchange information about the research activities in the area of Semiconductor materials and devices.

The success in achieving this objective led to eleven more such workshops being organized by various premier research institutes in different parts of the country every alternate year. The objectives of these workshops became more focussed with every successive workshop.

The main emphasis was on dissemination of information on the current topics of interest through in-depth discussions and participation of researchers from India and abroad. The last Workshop was attended by 450 delegates including 110 from abroad and was organized at IIT, Madras, Chennai during December 2003.

The Thirteenth International Workshop on the Physics of Semiconductor Devices (IWPSD-2005) is being organized by Society for Semiconductor Devices in collaboration with National Physical Laboratory, Delhi with the co-operation of IIT Delhi, SSPL Delhi, CEERI Pillani, Jamia Millia Islamia Delhi, and Delhi University from December 13 to 17, 2005 at New Delhi.

The main objective of this workshop will be to bring together research workers from universities, research institutes and industries and promote interactions and discussions on nine selected aspects of physics and technology of semiconductor devices. The workshop is being organized as nine symposia to achieve the above objectives

Scope : The topics to be covered in the Workshop are:

- Optoelectronics (including IR & PV)
- VLSI & ULSI Technologies
- Modelling and Simulation
- Nano-Technology
- High Frequency Devices
- Growth & Characterization
- Sensors & MEMS
- Organic Semiconductors
- Emerging Technologies

From 13 Dec 2005
Until 17 Dec 2005
