□ S innovations (CEOs Joung Joon Kim and Hyung-Seok Park), a DGIST (President Kunwoo Lee) startup, has secured a total of KRW 3 billion in Pre-A investment from three institutions—Quantum Ventures Korea, the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and Daekyo Investment—in recognition of its technology for automating everything from the installation and maintenance of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to the integrated operation of heterogeneous robots.
□ While the adoption of AMRs is rapidly increasing, particularly in manufacturing and logistics settings, their actual deployment requires considerable manpower and time not only to install robots, generate maps, and check for errors, but also to manage them within a single system. In particular, as the number of robots in operation increases, maintenance and integrated management become increasingly complex, which is regarded as a major challenge in the industry.
□ To address these challenges, S innovations is developing “SynK,” a Cyber-Physical AI-based platform for automating AMR operations. The key is that AI analyzes the actual movements of robots and on-site data to automate installation, maintenance, and integration tasks that had been repeatedly conducted by humans.
□ SynK provides three key functions: (1) installation automation, (2) maintenance automation, and (3) integration automation. During the installation stage, its “Auto Mapping” technology enables robots to navigate the site autonomously and generate maps without direct human operation.
□ During the maintenance stage, SynK detects operational abnormalities or positioning errors in robots, provides guidance on their causes and how to respond, and immediately resolves errors that can be automatically recovered. It also provides a “Smart Charging” function that manages appropriate charging times and criteria based on operational data.
□ During the integration stage, SynK enables multiple AMRs from different manufacturers and of different models to be managed within a single environment. This allows various robots to be operated together without being dependent on a specific manufacturer’s system, reducing the management complexity that arises as the scale of AMR deployment increases.
□ A key strength of SynK is its ability to reduce the manpower and time required for AMR installation and maintenance, as well as the costs associated with on-site service visits and operational downtime. S innovations has laid the foundation for commercialization through its selection for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ TIPS program and certification as a venture company. In 2026, it began expanding into overseas markets by successfully securing exports to Taiwan. The company is also strengthening the competitiveness of its core technologies by filing patents related to SLAM-based map correction and map generation for AMRs.
□ S innovations plans to use the investment to further develop SynK’s product and technology and recruit key talent. It also plans to step up product commercialization and market validation by expanding its reseller network and customer deployment cases, primarily in Korea and Taiwan.
□ “Based on this investment, we will productize the conventional approach to AMR deployment, which has relied on customer-specific engineering, and complete the development of SynK as a platform that resellers can repeatedly deploy across diverse sites,” said Joung Joon Kim, CEO of S innovations. “By automating AMR installation, maintenance, and integration through Cyber-Physical AI, we will expand the market for AMR operations automation in Korea and abroad.”
