□ DGIST (President Kunwoo Lee) and the Korea Brain Research Institute (KBRI) will jointly host the DGIST-KBRI Promising Technology Commercialization Briefing Session on April 22–23 at the IP Campus of the Korea Invention Promotion Association in Seoul.
□ This event is designed to introduce outstanding technologies from DGIST and KBRI to companies in the Seoul metropolitan area and promote practical technology transfer and business collaboration through one-on-one consultations with interested companies. Relevant institutions, including the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC), patent law firms, and regional technoparks, will participate to facilitate multifaceted discussions on commercialization.
□ The event will be held over two days. The focus of the first day (April 22) will be IT-related technology presentations and consultations and that of the second day (April 23) will be biotechnology (BT) and other technologies. Fourteen researchers from DGIST and KBRI will hold in-depth one-on-one consultations with interested companies, and KOTEC will introduce its technology financing support programs.
□ The technology presentations by DGIST and KBRI will feature 15 cutting-edge technologies, including autonomous driving robots, AI training data augmentation, vision inspection systems, thermally conductive sheets, and early diagnostic biomarkers for dementia and Alzheimer’s. Staff from the DGIST Technology Commercialization Team and the KBRI Research Performance Dissemination Team will be on-site alongside representatives of partner organizations including E-BIRD, TBIZ, and the Daegu Research and Development Special Zone to provide consultation support.
□ A DGIST official stated, “This briefing session is meaningful not only for promoting the external dissemination of the promising technologies both institutions have but also for identifying points of alignment with the real needs of industry. We will continue to pursue an integrated commercialization support model that spans the entire process from technology discovery to follow-up collaboration.”
□ DGIST plans to hold regular consultation sessions in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region during the second half of this year to further activate technology matching with and transfer to domestic and international companies.
