□ DGIST (President Kunwoo Lee) announced that it successfully held DGIST Baseball Day on the 7th at Daegu Samsung Lions Park, with approximately 1,000 participants, including university members, their families, and representatives from partner companies.

□ The event was organized to invite university members who have been dedicated to their studies, research, and administrative work, along with representatives from valued partner companies of the university to promote open communication and unity while fostering a healthy and vibrant organizational culture.

□ Before the game between the Samsung Lions and LG Twins that day, a meaningful ceremonial first pitch and first hit were held to symbolize mutual growth and advancement. Choong Kon Lee, Chair of the DGIST Development Foundation (Chairman of SL Corporation), threw the ceremonial first pitch, while Chowoo Seo, President of the DGIST Student Council (School of Undergraduate Studies), made the ceremonial first hit, conveying a message of unity as the university and its foundation move forward together.

□ “This event provided a meaningful opportunity for members of the DGIST community and local business leaders to come together, communicate, and foster unity,” stated Choong Kon Lee, Chair of the DGIST Development Foundation. “The Development Foundation will continue to actively support DGIST in its growth into a world-class university that contributes to humanity.”

□ Meanwhile, DGIST recently achieved the distinction of ranking No. 1 in Korea for “Citations per Faculty” for the second consecutive year in the 2027 QS World University Rankings, released by the UK-based global university ranking organization Quacquarelli Symonds. Despite its relatively short history, DGIST has demonstrated world-class research competitiveness and firmly established itself as a leading global university for convergence research.
