Dear reader,

Only 3 days left to submit your nominations for MIT Technology Review’s list of 20 Innovators Under 35 from Australia, Hong Kong S.A.R., New Zealand, Southeast Asia (all countries) and Taiwan.

This is an incredible opportunity for young innovators from the region to be recognised internationally and join a global community of innovators that counts some of the most famous names in tech among its members.

People like Google’s Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Tesla’s JB Straubel, Spotify’s Daniel Ek, and iRobot’s Helen Greiner – just to name a few – have all been recognised by MIT Technology Review as Innovators Under 35 throughout the years.

The 20 selected innovators will be celebrated at MIT Technology Review's EmTech Asia on 25 – 26 February 2020, gaining unparalleled media coverage and access to an audience of over 800 accomplished innovators and investors.

We’ve asked some of our past innovators what they thought about being on MIT Technology Review’s regional list of Innovators Under 35 and here are their thoughts:

“It was a great honour to be listed as one of the Innovators Under 35 by the MIT Technology Review. EmTech is an incredible global platform to deliver inspiring ideas and to seek support from the innovation community. I am working on biomedical devices on patient-derived models for direct detection and evaluation of diseases, and this scene has opened up many opportunities for me and the others.” Bee Luan Khoo, Senior Post Doctoral Associate, BioSystems and Micromechanics (BioSyM) Inter-Disciplinary Research Group, Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) & Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific Honouree

“EmTech Asia - and Singapore - is definitely the next hub after Silicon Valley that you want to be part of, where great minds meet. Besides the mind-blowing convergence of technology, engineering, medicine and entrepreneurship, a vast network of investors has also enabled us to verbally secure a deal worth S$200,000, just after a 3-minute pitch. Yes! This is the next valley! Singapore valley!” Dhesi Raja, Cofounder & Chief Scientist, Artificial Intelligence in Medical Epidemiology (AIME) & Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific Honouree

“Receiving recognition from MIT Technology Review is inspiring, as it’s important for those of us who are developing new tech in the trenches of Asia to know that innovations coming out of Asia do get noticed. It also gives investors renewed confidence in the innovation that is taking place in this part of the world, which, in reality is a vibrant scene of innovation. I encourage those who know of people doing good work in this neck of the woods to nominate them because we need to hear more Asian success stories to inspire us to better innovate." Peh Ruey Feng, ‎CEO & Founder, Advent Access & Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific Honouree

Nominations close on 12th September 2019. Recognise the next wave of young innovators from Australia, Hong Kong S.A.R., New Zealand, Southeast Asia (all countries) and Taiwan.

Kind regards,

The EmTech Asia Team
