Soil Appreciation Course 2009
The objectives of the course are to disseminate information on soil survey methods and to provide better understanding of tropical soils and their behaviour.
The course will be held at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia, Kepong, Malaysia.
The scope of the course includes:
Overview of soils in Peninsular Malaysia
Possible uses of soil information for forestry
Types of soil survey & accuracy of information
Understanding soil analytical data
Collection of soil information
Field observation of soil pits
Appreciation of soil description of auger samples using Field Legend
Appreciation of soil profile description using FAO guidelines
