Arab Women in Science and Technology For Sustainable Development

The conference will be in collaboration with Sudan Ministry of Science and Communication and Africa City of Technology (ACT) highlighting the successes and contribution of women in science and technology development in the Arab world.

INTRODUCTION:

There are plenty of high qualified women in science and technology and more scientist women are staffed in universities and R&D in the world. This growing scientifically skilled community assumed to contribute to the Arab world economic growth and to the economic competitiveness through innovation.

The launch of enterprise network that gathers specialized Arab women researchers and pioneers in the areas of science and technology is extremely essential. Therefore, a second conference on women in Science and Technology is considered following the great success of the first conference of Arab Women in Science and Technology, entitled: (Empower Arab women working in science and technology in the social and economic development). The conference will be in collaboration with Sudan Ministry of Science and Communication and Africa City of Technology (ACT) highlighting the successes and contribution of women in science and technology development in the Arab world.

OBJECTIVES: This conference aims to:

Emphasize the leading role of Arab women in science and technology.
Highlight the success of Arab women scientists.
Launch an infrastructure for communication between women in science and technology.
Initiate working groups to develop projects that can be implemented for the second phase of the initiative.

FORMAT: The conference will include selected keynote presentations, scientific papers (oral and posters) and exhibition.

THEMES:

Communications, information and Space technology.
Agriculture and Food technology.
Environment, Energy and Water.
Life sciences and biotechnology.
Basic sciences and Engineering.

LANGUAGE: The official language of the conference will be English. However, English abstracts for papers presented in Arabic should be provided.

PAPER SUBMISSION:

Authors are invited to submit abstracts and full papers in English. All submissions will be peer reviewed based on originality and technical quality. Abstracts should be sent by electronic mail to:

ABSTRACTS - SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES:

Abstracts should not be more than 250 words. Font used is Times New Roman size 12. Author presenting the work must be underlined. Authors must select their choice of presentation (Oral or Poster). Conference Scientific Committee will make every effort to honor this request if the abstract is accepted for presentation; however, the final decision will be left to the Committee's discretion.

The conference is announcing a free competition on award for the most ten outstanding papers (5 local + 5 international) as encouragement for young scientists (age: up to35 year). The prize will cover the hosting of the 5 international winners and equivalent in US$ for local winners.
