Dr. An is an associate professor at the School of Energy and Environment, City University of Hong Kong (CityU), where she also heads the Water and Membrane Technologies Laboratory. Her research into membrane-based water treatment spans over a decade and covers various new technologies and applications. Among these applications is the development of a novel membrane system for bacteria-resistant organics oxidation in wastewater and use of nanobubble technology in aquaculture.
She is a member of engineering associations in Hong Kong and Korea and serves on the editorial board of Desalination: The International Journal on the Science and Technology of Desalting and Water Purification.
