Carla Alexandra Moreira Portugal
Carla Portugal obtained a PhD in Chemical Engineering- Transfer Phenomena and Unit operations from FCT-UNL in 2005. Since 2009, she focused her research work on the design of functional porous media: i. porous media for affinity based chromatography (e.g. monoliths), ii. functional membranes (e.g. stimuli-responsive membranes) and membrane with control designed topographies for improvement of membrane separation processes, development of (bio)sensors and membrane based devices for biomedical applications (e.g. tissue engineering). Presently, she lectures classes of General Chemistry (laboratory classes) to students from Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physical Engineering at FCT-UNL.
