- Held at DGIST from May 18 to 20. - Seventeen prestigious engineering colleges from nine countries gathered to explore innovative directions for artificial intelligence (AI)-based engineering education. - Leaders in Asian engineering education have discussed nurturing future talent and strengthening global cooperation networks.

□ DGIST (President Kunwoo Lee) announced that it successfully hosted the “AEDS 2026 (Asian Engineering Deans' Summit 2026)” for 3 days from the 18th (Monday) to the 20th (Wednesday) on its campus, where the deans of major prestigious engineering schools across Asia gathered in one place.

□ The summit, themed "AI-Driven Innovation in Engineering Education," explored the future of engineering education in Asia and strengthened global academic collaboration in the rapidly changing technological environment.

□ More than 80 deans and leaders from the engineering schools of 17 prestigious universities across 9 Asian countries attended this event, including DGIST, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Seoul National University, National Taiwan University, and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology. The participants engaged in in-depth discussions centered on innovative strategies for engineering education in the AI era and ways to nurture future talent.

□ The main programs included

▲ sharing innovative examples of AI-based engineering education,

▲ lectures on the history of science and technology in Korea, and

▲ a tour of DGIST's semiconductor and convergence research infrastructure (FAB).

Undergraduate and graduate students had the opportunity to directly participate in some sessions and engage with Asian engineering education leaders and global scholars, thereby broadening their international perspectives.

□ "This AEDS 2026 was a meaningful opportunity to share DGIST's differentiated education and research model with major engineering colleges in Asia and to discuss the direction of future engineering education together," said DGIST President Kunwoo Lee. "DGIST will continue to strengthen its global leadership network and take the lead in nurturing future engineers who will lead the AI era," he added.

□ AEDS is an international collaboration platform where leaders from leading engineering colleges in Asia discuss current issues and future strategies in engineering education. DGIST plans to leverage this event to enhance its status as a leading university in engineering education innovation in Asia and continuously expand its educational and research collaborations with global universities.
