□ DGIST (President Kunwoo Lee) announced that DB Kim Jun Ki Cultural Foundation (Chairperson Yoon Dae-geun) has pledged to donate KRW 120 million to support international students in their studies and research. The donation will be used for scholarships to support international students.
□ The plaque presentation ceremony for the pledge was held at DGIST on the 14th of this month. Kang Eun-jung, Executive Director of DB Kim Jun Ki Cultural Foundation, and Lee Kunwoo, President of DGIST, attended the ceremony.
□ “We hope that international students at DGIST will be able to concentrate fully on their studies in a stable environment,” said Ms. Kang. “Through this scholarship, we expect them to grow into outstanding talents and serve as a bridge between their home countries and South Korea.”
□ DGIST President Lee said, “International students are a vital resource for enhancing DGIST’s international research capabilities," and he expressed his gratitude for the donation. “This donation from the DB Kim Jun Ki Cultural Foundation will help international students focus on their studies and develop into global talents.”
□ The DB Kim Jun Ki Cultural Foundation was established in 1988 with private funds to continuously discover and nurture outstanding students in accordance with the wishes of DB Group’s founder and Chairperson Kim Jun Ki, who said, “The future belongs to those who face challenges with hopes and dreams.” Since its establishment, the foundation has used a total of KRW 110 billion to provide scholarships to approximately 6,000 university students, hold various academic conferences, and contribute to the development of talented human resources in the global knowledge and information age through academic research support and education support projects.
□ This scholarship is the DGIST’s Dream Support Global Scholarship, which will be awarded to international students with excellent academic and research performance. Specifically, KRW 30 million will be provided in the form of a four-year scholarship each year.
