CITAL will build on the Centre’s existing work, strengthening innovation in teaching and learning with a particular focus on evidence-informed development and the constant enrichment of student learning outcomes through the use of innovative educational technologies.
According to Prof Frankie Lam, Director of CITAL, this decision has been guided by strategic considerations, which include aligning with the University’s wish to intensify research and develop Lingnan University into a comprehensive higher education institution, thereby supporting its positioning as a critical player in HKSAR’s educational landscape and as a leading international education hub. CITAL also responds to urgent development needs, such as support for institutional growth in the newly established School of Data Science, the Wu Jieh Yee School of Interdisciplinary Studies, the expansion of new programmes, and ongoing growth of both undergraduate and postgraduate offerings and student numbers. In addition, CITAL will support quality assurance and continuous improvement by further strengthening learning innovation and analytics for teaching and learning quality, while integrating innovative technologies to uplift the University’s competitiveness locally and internationally.
Lingnan University looks forward to leveraging CITAL to foster teaching innovation and strengthen quality assurance practices.
