Dr. Mary Anne DC Mallari

Mary Anne Mallari specializes in film and literary criticism.

Mary Anne Mallari teaches literature at the University of Santo Tomas-Manila. Anne earned her Ph.D. Literature degree at De La Salle University-Manila and contributed articles to journals such as Plaridel: A Philippine Journal of Communication, Media and Society, Humanities Diliman, and Pelikula: A Journal of Philippine Cinema and Moving Image. Anne is an active member of the Society of Filipino Archivists for Film (SOFIA) and is currently the head of the Southeast Asian Cinemas Special Interest Group of the Southeast Asian Media Studies Association (SEAMSA). She was also a fellow at the National University of Singapore – Asia Research Institute’s 2021 Asian Graduate Student Fellowship. Her research interests include Philippine and Southeast Asian film and media studies, postcolonial theory, and literary criticism.
