Enhancing APG Investment Towards Regional Energy Optimisation

Massive potential advantages are foregrounded from the establishment of integrated system has resulted the establishment of electricity interconnecting arrangements within the region by ASEAN through the Asean Power Grid (APG) under the ASEAN Vision 2020.

The construction of the APG is first done on cross-border bilateral terms, then expanded to a sub-regional basis and finally to a total integrated regional system. A more enhanced electricity trade across borders are expected through the implementation of the Action Plan of Asean Energy cooperation 2016 - 2025 (APAEC 2016 - 2025) which would assist in meeting the rising electricity demand hence, improving the access to energy services in the region.

The 1st edition of the ASEAN Power Grid Summit 2018 (APGS2018) supported by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Lao PDR with the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos as the knowledge partner; is co-organised by Confexhub Group and LJ Hydro Consultancy; set to provide a platform for potential foreign investors, power producers, technology providers and energy financial institutions, to gather in Vientiane, Laos to understand the market potentials of investing in the power generation and grid in ASEAN with special focus on Lao PDR.

More than 20 eminent Guest Speakers from over 10 countries will gather at this event to discuss on six sub themes:
