UPM Students Awarded at the 7th FFVPM

A science student from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) walked away with the Best Experimental Video/Film Award at the 7th Malaysian Students Film and Video Festival (FFVPM) held at 2020 Hall in Kangar, Perlis.

A Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology) undergrad from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Molecular Science UPM, Muhammad Fadli Murtaaza who won the award for his video, Adiwira also disclosed that so far UPM has never participated under the experimental video category.

“His first entry under the category was his second masterpiece in producing experimental video. His work tells a story of four young men whose lives changed tremendously after their encounter with a meteor and their newly found force was put to good deed,” he said

In addition, UPM contested in other categories, Short Film/Video, Animation Film/Video and Public Message Film/Video/Advertorial.

Video Production Officer, Mohd Rizal Helmi A Razak of Video Publication Laboratory, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication UPM, said there should be no reason for the students not to be interested in producing videos as the University provided ample facilities.

“Apart from the infrastructures, UPM also offers adequate trainers to develop skills on video production as part of the initiative to encourage students’ participation hence contributing to the University’s reputation,” he concluded.
