The Flood Hazard Research Centre (FHRC) has won one of the first ALINe Farmer Voice awards for its work with more than 200 community-based organizations (CBOs) improving floodplain management in Bangladesh.
Through its IDRC-supported Adaptive Learning Networking project, FHRC has successfully linked farming management systems among CBOs of small-scale fishers and farmers, supporting leadership, innovation, and peer learning activities.
The inaugural ALINe Farmer Voice awards celebrate leading examples of organizations that have successfully nurtured and responded to smallholder farmers’ own efforts. Nine programs from around the world were chosen for the 2010 awards.
