IDRC announces winners of 2011 research awards

The International Development Research Council is pleased to announce that 23 candidates have received IDRC Doctoral Research Awards to conduct field research in 19 developing countries, on topics corresponding to IDRC's research priorities.

The awards are offered twice a year to citizens or permanent residents of Canada and citizens of developing countries pursuing their doctoral studies at a Canadian university.

Two Canadian Window on International Development Awards were also granted for field research. Offered annually, these awards focus on master’s or PhD research that explores the interrelationships between Canada and developing countries. The goal: better understand issues of common concern, including issues common to First Nations or Inuit communities in Canada. The competition is open to citizens or permanent residents of Canada and citizens of developing countries pursuing their master's or doctoral studies at a Canadian university.
