Malaysia's University of Malaya and France's CNRS sign the creation of joint laboratory agreement

Initiated in 1982, the collaboration between The French National Centre for Scientific Research and University of Malaya led to the creation of a joint laboratory called Laboratoire International Associé.

The creation of this laboratoire international associé (LIA), named "IFM NatProLab" (International French Malaysian Natural Product Laboratory), was made official on Saturday November 7th at University of Malaya (UM) in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

The official ceremony was held in the presence of Prof. Dr Mohd Amin Jalaludin Vice Chancellor and President of UM, and Mr. Arnaud Lalo, Deputy-Director for Asia at the Direction de la Recherche et de la Coopération Intenationale (DERCI), representing The French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).

The scientific supervisors for this cooperation agreement are Dr Fanny Roussi and Dr Marc Litaudon from the Natural Product Chemistry Institute (ICSN) part of CNRS, and Prof. K. Awang for UM.
