Ziarah Ramadan Program to Help UPM Students

SERDANG, 1 Sept – Student Affairs Division (BHEP) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organized a Ziarah Amal Ramadan program, set to provide assistance for less fortunate students in their preparation for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

A number of 17 UPM students who are less fortunate were given alms worth RM1,000 and RM200 worth of groceries.

The program was aimed to help these students and their family with their Hari Raya Aidilfitri preparation so that they can enjoy the festive season as much as everyone else.

The program, which was in its third run witnessed the presentation of alms to three students from Sabah and Sarawak whose balik kampung agenda was deterred due to financial constrain.

The remaining aid for 14 students will be handed personally at their respective residences by representatives from the Student Affairs Division

A student from the Bachelor of Education (Home Science), Atika Yusof from Tawau, Sabah said it was her first time receiving assistance from the University.

“I am so grateful that UPM is really concern of our welfares,” she said.

A student from the Bachelor of Education (Moral Education) of Kota Belud Sabah, Ramadhan Muntaha said he was utterly thankful that he was picked among numerous of claimants.

“This contribution would certainly help ease the burden of my father who only makes RM150 monthly as a farmer,” he said in glee.
