University of Malaya bagged six medals at i-Envex 2015

University of Malaya won two Gold and four Silver medals at the International Engineering Invention & Innovation Exhibition (i-ENVEX) 2015 held on April 17 – 19, 2015 at Universiti Malaysia Perlis.

University of Malaya won two Gold and four Silver medals at the International Engineering Invention & Innovation Exhibition (i-ENVEX) 2015 held on April 17 – 19, 2015 at Universiti Malaysia Perlis. i-ENVEX is a competition based on the field of research and innovation, and aims to create a creative and innovative generation.

The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT) sent six teams comprising of students and lecturers to i-ENVEX 2015. Two of the projects entitled Book Spot! (Nur Baiti 'Afini Bt Normadhi & Dr Norliyana Shuib) and Augmented Product Demonstration (Tan Bing Hoong & Pn. Nornazlita Hussin) bagged the Gold medals.
Book Spot! is an extension of Learning Style based Information Seeking Tool which aims to map and match recommended reading learning style to students’ learning styles.

On the other hand, the Augmented Product Demonstration is an android based application which visualizes the product in 3D and allows user to customize it to their preferences. The application focuses on those who need to demonstrate any 3D product such as building or vehicle which is too big and expensive for mobility.

Four other teams won the Silver medals. They are as follows:

- Interactive Mobile Messenger Application (IMMAP) - Nurnatasha Sabrina, Gan Chin Lay & Dr Vimala Balakrishnan

- Anniyeong: Fun Learning of Korean Language - Sarah Nurhanis Razak & Dr. Maizatul Akmar Ismail

- Mitigation of Shoulder Surfing Attack on Graphical Password Using TCS Method - Omar Mokhtar bin Che Othman& Dr Por Lip Yee

- MyFat2Fit: Mobile Apps for Obesity Prevention - Abbie Hossanna anak Ruang & Prof Loo Chu Kiong
