Overview

Keio University, one of the recipients of Strategic Funding for Establishing International Headquarters in Universities provided by MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), conducts its international activities in consultation with the Organization of Global Initiatives. This symposium, marking the conclusion of five years of funding, will sum up the achievements and challenges faced by Keio in its efforts to internationalize.

In Panel Discussion 1, Keio former exchange students and current international students will share their experiences, shedding light on current issues regarding study abroad and providing suggestions as to how universities can tackle Japanese students’ reluctance to participate in study abroad programs.

Panel Discussion 2 will focus on double degree programs. Faculty from Keio University and special guests from Keio’s partner institutions will discuss the significance of developing and implementing double degree programs and will also consider the future shape of international collaboration between universities by discussing their successes and problems.
