JAPAN Exhibition: Kingdom of Characters

Ultraman, Hello Kitty, Nobita, Doraemon are examples of Japanese animated characters that are hugeley poplular with large numbers of people around the world. Now, the people of Penang can get one step closer to their favourite characters.

The character animation fair from Japan has come to the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for the first time by The Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur, Penang Consulate of Japan in collaboration with Tuanku Fauziah Museum and Gallery (MGTF).

'JAPAN Exhibition: Kingdom of Characters' showcases the characters of Japanese animations and comics as a part of Japanese society, and was recently officiated by the Deputy Consul-General of Japan, Taniguchi Horoko.

In addition to providing a special medium for the community in Malaysia to learn about popular Japanese characters from the 50's to the present day, the exhibition also provides an opportunity for visitors to understand the cultural background and history of the animated characters.

JAPAN Exhibition: Kingdom of Characters is open for free to the public in the MGTF USM until February 4, 2012 (except Sundays and Public Holidays).
