Around the world, women face risks and complications to their health and lives during their pregnancies and labour, and after delivery. These risks are closely related to the social, cultural, and health systems challenges they experience on a daily basis.
IDRC is funding researchers who are taking up the challenge to save and improve the lives of women and children through projects that are generating practical knowledge, innovative solutions, and scalable positive change. As key drivers and champions, they are making a difference in maternal and child health efforts across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Join us as several of these IDRC-supported global health researchers share their personal journeys and experiences as they strive to improve primary health care for mothers and children.
Dr Clara Juarez (Mexico), Moses Mulumba (Uganda), Dr Nunik Kusumawardani (Indonesia), Dr John Ataguba (South Africa), and Dr Aissa Diarra (Niger) will speak about how IDRC-supported research and partnerships are resulting in significant changes in the lives of mothers and children, and how health systems are being transformed to respond to these needs.
