Ms. Atqiya Faizah Niki
My research interests lie at the intersection of infectious disease epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance, tuberculosis prevention, and climate-driven health challenges. I am particularly interested in implementation research, focusing on translating evidence-based public health interventions into real-world settings, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
My expertise includes quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, epidemiological study design, and statistical analysis using SPSS, R, and NVivo. I have conducted research on antibiotic resistance in Klebsiella, rapid STI detection in urban slums, and climate-related emerging fungal diseases. My master’s thesis explores healthcare provider perspectives on barriers and facilitators to implementing Tuberculosis Preventive Therapy (TPT) in urban TB centers in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
I have contributed to global research collaborations, including the 13th European Conference on Tropical Medicine and International Health (ECTMIH) and projects with icddr,b, Utrecht University, and Asian University for Women. My goal is to bridge epidemiological research, bioinformatics, and public health policy to develop sustainable, evidence-based solutions for global health challenges.
