Prakash V. Arumugam

He is currently the Dean of the School of Business and Administration at Wawasan Open University, Malaysia, and also instrumental in developing the MBA programme at the institution.

He has been involved in education for the past 25 years at different levels having taught economics, management, and public policy at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He holds two master's degrees in public administration as well as economics.

He is currently the Dean of the School of Business and Administration and also instrumental in developing the MBA programme at the institution. In the international front, he is a member of the International Academic Board of the Commonwealth Executive MBA/PA Programmes, Commonwealth of Learning, Canada, Assistant Editor Asian Journal of Distance Education and sits in the editorial board of Pakistan Journal of Distance and Online Learning.Holding memberships in several local and international professional associations including the Malaysian Economic Association, he is also an HRDF certified trainer.

Experienced in writing self-instructional course module for distance learning courses in the areas of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Business Statistics, Public Systems Management, Public Policy, Development Planning and Administration, Policy Analysis and Implementation, Contemporary Administrative Systems, Disaster Management, Economic Environment of Business, Research Methods and Quantitative Techniques.

Current research interest is in the area of foreign direct investment between East Asia and Southeast Asian economies. Also conducts research in distance learning and adult motivation including retention studies, student support, and assessment design.

Have conducted training in course development methodologies, constructive alignment, assessment design, and student engagement practices including workshops on research methodology. He has conducted training in case study writing and analysis for business academics.
