□ On June 1, DGIST (President Lee Kunwoo) delivered a donation of KRW 5 million to the non-profit foundation Leukemia Children Tumor Supporter in the university’s main conference room to help children with leukemia and other cancers. The event was attended by Han Ju-tak (Director, Office of General Administration, DGIST) and Lee Sang-in (Leukemia Children Tumor Supporter’s public relations ambassador), among others. All donated money will be used to help cover the medical expenses of children suffering from leukemia and other cancers.
□ This donation was of particular significance in that DGIST shared its goodwill with the local community by using the voluntary contributions raised through the direct participation of DGIST executives and employees in the eco-friendly tree-planting activity on “Cherry Blossom Day” in April and the “Baking for Love” volunteer activity in May.
□ Those who participated in the “Baking for Love” volunteer activity were directly involved in the entire process, from baking to packaging, and delivered around 550 “Integrity Breads,” made with great care, to local children and senior welfare facilities. This activity served as an opportunity to spread warmth to neighbors in the local community in celebration of Family Month, while also reminding public officials of the value of integrity in their daily lives and strengthening a healthy organizational culture based on honesty and trust.
□ This social contribution activity is significant in that DGIST fulfilled its social responsibility as a public organization and extended the core value of “integrity” through community outreach.
□ “It is deeply meaningful that the voluntary participation and warm hearts of our university members have come together to provide tangible assistance to the local community,” said President Lee Kunwoo. “Moving forward, DGIST will continue to carry out social contribution activities based on the values of integrity and mutual prosperity to grow with the local community.”
