Research Assistant (Academic) Tahiya Tasnim
Tahiya Tasnim is a dynamic academic researcher and educator committed to bridging the gap between academia and communities through impactful, research-driven interventions. Graduating with high distinction from the Asian University for Women (AUW) in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE), with a minor in Development Studies, she has distinguished herself as a leader in education, planetary health, and environmental sustainability.
Currently, as a Research Assistant (Academic) at the Center for Climate Change and Environmental Health (3CEH), AUW, she plays a pivotal role in co-developing planetary health education curricula in collaboration with international institutions under the CATA-EARTH Project, funded by the European Commission. She has also conducted extensive field research in climate-vulnerable communities in Bangladesh and the world’s largest refugee camp, mentoring Rohingya students in research, advocacy, and leadership through the Knowledge for Development Management (K4DM) Project, funded by IDRC Canada.
A rising scholar, Tahiya specializes in translating research into actionable policies and educational frameworks. Her interdisciplinary research spans refugee education, microfinance and women's empowerment, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), disaster resilience, and gender-based violence—with multiple studies currently under review for publication. Her dedication to community-driven change is evident in her leadership of training programs, curriculum development, and grassroots workshops, where she empowers marginalized communities with knowledge and resources.
As an innovative researcher and aspiring educator, Tahiya envisions a future where education systems are more equitable, inclusive, and impactful, ensuring sustainable progress in developing nations.
