Due to the expiration of the term of the present President on 27 May, Professor Atsushi Seike, who presently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Business and Commerce and Chair of the Graduate School of Business and Commerce, was appointed as the next President of Keio University on 24 April by the Board of Councilors of Keio University. The term of the next President will be four years from 28 May 2009 until 27 May, 2013.
Atsushi Seike
Born in 1954. 55 years old. Ph.D. in Business and Commerce.
In 1978, graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Keio University.
In 1983, withdrawal after completion of course requirements of Doctor Course, Graduate School, Division of Commerce, Keio University.
Served as Research Assistant and Assistant Professor before becoming Professor of the Faculty of Business and Commerce and the Graduate School of Business and Commerce in 1992.
Since October 2007, serves as Dean of the Faculty of Business and Commerce and Chair of the Graduate School of Business and Commerce.
Also serves as Board of Director of the Japanese Economic Association, Member of the Labor Policy Council, Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, Chairman, Policy Studies Group for the Aged Society, Cabinet Office.
Field of specialization is labor economics.
