The delegation, led by FRIN Executive Director, Dr. Badejo Solomon O., was greeted by FRIM Director-General Y.Bhg. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Latif Mohmod and Deputy Director General (Research) Y.Bhg. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Rashid Abdul Malik.
The delegation was briefed on the FRIM background, mission, objectives, and achievements by Dato’ Dr Abdul Rashid, followed by a question-and-answer session and discussions between FRIM and FRIN research officers on potential smart partnership areas for collaboration to strengthen sustainable forest management in the two countries.
The second day programme for the delegation included a visit to the FRIM Biotechnology Laboratory followed by the Forest Products Workshop. The delegation was also given a tour of FRIM to learn more about its research and development (R&D) activities.
As a result of this visit, there will be further discussion and establishment of an official mechanism for the smart partnership plan between FRIM and FRIN in August.
