Corporate race for charity & environmental awareness

The Frost the Trail KL Corporate Challenge Race, was held at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia, Kepong Botanical Garden on 11 October 2009, with participation from 14 companies, 25 teams and 100 runners.

The race was aimed at promoting corporate social responsibility, raising funds for charity and creating environmental awareness.

According to the organiser, Frost & Sullivan, a growth partnership company, the run has been successfully organised in Singapore for four years now and it was set to be an annual event in Malaysia.

FRIM was specially selected as the venue for the first 8.1km run here which also served to enhance teamwork, promote healthy living and provide an opportunity for interaction between industrial peers in a relaxed environment.

FRIM Director General Dato’ Dr Abd Latif Mohmod officiated the launching of the event. Also present were Frost & Sullivan Chairman Mr David Frigstad and its Global President and Managing Partner, Mr Aroop Zutshi.

The beneficiaries of the run were Pusat Kasih Sayang YMCA, Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Kurang Upaya KIRTASH and Yayasan Anak Warisan Alan.

Children from YWCA and KIRTASH children entertained the crowd with their dance performances whilst YAWA members put on a riveting eco drum performance using recycled materials as ‘musical’ instruments.

Among others, Frost & Sullivan pledged to contribute to FRIM’s Revive the Environment Fund and Mr Frigstad has also expressed his hope to include FRIM in the future events.
