On 24 November 2009, 15 representatives from the Forest Science Sub-Institute of South Vietnam (FSSIV) paid a visit to Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM)

The purpose of their visit is to find out more about the research and development (R&D) in plantation forest carried out by FRIM.

The delegates were greeted by FRIM Corporate Management Unit Head Puan Norhayati Nordin and Natural Forest Programme Head Dr Ismail Harun who gave a briefing on FRIM.

They were also briefed on the institute’s R&D activities related to plantation forests by FRIM Senior Research Officer Dr Wan Rasidah A. Kadir.

The delegates who were accompanied by some Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) representatives also visited the FRIM plantation forest’s nursery.

On 23 November, FRIM received a delegation from the Melbourne School of Land and Environment (MSLE), University of Melbourne, who were here to discuss possible collaborative research and post-graduate training in relevant fields.
