UPM Hosts 9th National Symposium on Polymeric Materials

A symposium was held recently by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) aimed to provide extensive network in the field of polymer, rubber and composites.

The 9th National Symposium on Polymeric Materials (NSPM) provides a platform for researchers, academicians and entrepreneurs from all over the country to share their knowledge and experiece apart from expanding research network; the symposium will enhance good rapport between private company and the academic.

Deputy Adviser of the symposium, Dr. Aidy Ali from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing expressed his hopes that the symposium will enable the participants to expand their network to discuss on the field of polymer, rubber and composites.

The 9th NSPM included 66 presentations and 35 posters and the outcome of the symposium shall be compiled in a pubication of abstract and a proceeding CD. A number of 20 selected papers will be published in the esteemed Pertanika Journal: Science and Technology.

Amongst organizations participated were the Malaysian Rubber Board (LGM), Malaysian Nuclear Agency, SIRIM, Sciene University Malaysia, University of Malaya, Universtity of Technology Petronas and Kuala Lumpur University.
