According to him, the first challenge to face is to galvanize the entire academic staff to move proactively towards the goals as outlined in the UPM Strategic Plan 2011-2013.
"The most important matter is to ensure that the welfare of academic staff is well taken care of and their needs are attend to in order to achieve the vision of the university," he said when contacted.
In addition, he also wants more activities to be carried out at the faculty and university level as well as bringing in more members to the association.
The 31st AGM that convened on March 3rd witnessed the appointment of Dr. Sarjit Singh Darshan Singh from the Department of Social Sciences and Development, Faculty of Human Ecology, UPM as vice president.
In addition, several new faces were elected to the position of exco namely Dr. Taufik Abdullah Muhammad from the Multimedia Department, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Puteri Edorayati (Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture) and Dr. Norida Mazlan (Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture).
Currently the association registered 600 members comprising academic staff and it has been established since 1976 with the aim to promote the interests and welfare of academic staff in UPM.
