The 1st NIMS-Technion Workshop is held in Japan

“The 1st Japan's NIMS - Israel's Technion Workshop on Innovative Materials for Energy and Electronics” was held in two days, on February 16th and 17th at Namiki Site of NIMS.

Technion-Israel Institute of Technology was established in 1912, prior to the founding of Israel, and it has been regarded as one of the most prestigious institutes of technology in the world. Especially, Technion has high reputation for “development from basic research to innovation”, and has produced 3 novel prize laureates.

5 scientists from Technion including Executive Vice President for Research Prof. Wayne Kaplan and 8 scientists from Japan's National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) joined the workshop. They presented their most up-to-date research results, and many questions and answers were exchanged very actively. People from industries also joined the workshop as observers.

In the banquet on 16th, Her Excellency Ms. Ruth Kahanoff, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel, participated and exchanged greetings with NIMS president Prof. Hashimoto and other participants. She expressed her expectation for enhanced academic collaboration and cooperation between NIMS and Technion from now on.

Very active academic collaboration between the two institutes in research is highly expected.
