The discovery in Spain of a 125-million-year-old fossil of a previously unknown extinct mammal with exceptionally well-preserved skin and fur is reported in a paper published in this week’s Nature.

The discovery of 47 human teeth from a cave in southern China indicates that anatomically modern humans were present in the region at least 80,000 years ago. The findings, reported in Nature this week, add to the understanding of the emergence of modern humans in southern Asia.
