Success for UiTM's 'Yogi Bear' team at Programming contest

GOMBAK A team from Universiti Teknologi MARA called 'Yogi Bear' won 3rd place in ACM-ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) Al-Khawarizmi National Programming Contest, held on 29th October 2011 at International Islamic University Malaysia (UIAM), Gombak.

The Yogi Bear team comprized of Bachelor of Computer Science students namely Sidi Bhukari Sidi Omar, Nor Adzlan Jamaluddin and Muhammad Alhafiz Hamzah,from Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics. They were earlier trained by their lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syed Ahmad Aljunid, and later coached by Dr Nur Atiqah Sia Abdullah and Cik Suhada Mat Zin.

The contest involved 43 participating teams from Malaysian universities, where each team is required to solve real-world programming problems within five hours. There were four other teams from UiTM - Raising Sun from Shah Alam campus, and four from Terengganu campus (Tora, Uma, Usagi, Neko). The UiTM Terengganu teams were trained by Assoc.
