Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Basit
Dr. Muhammad Abdul Basit, who originally belongs to the Bahawalpur city, completed his Bachelors in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from UET Lahore, Pakistan in 2006. Then he joined a private automotive manufacturing industry named MGA Autos Lahore and served as a quality engineer before joining as a Lecturer at Institute of Advanced Materials, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan (BZU). There, he served for more than four years. In 2011, he was awarded MS-leading PhD scholarship by HEC, so he joined Nano-device Engineering Laboratory at Hanyang University South Korea. He gained the experience of fabrication process for photo-electrochemical solar cells, screen-printing process for development of sensitizable photoanodes using various semi-conduction materials, various wet-chemistry techniques for development of quantum-dots and counter electrodes for photo-electrochemical solar cells. His area of specialization is quantum-dot-sensitized solar cells. He has a number of international publications in reputed journals and conference proceedings and has delivered many an invited talks at local forums to share the techno-scientific experiences with faculty and university students, particularly at UET Lahore and GCU, Faisalabad. In addition, he has published a chapter titled, Titanium based Nanomaterials and their Applications” in an HEC funded book. Recently, he was selected for a prestigious fully funded Postdoc-NeT 2017 Researchers Networking program by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) regarding the perspectives in German materials science and nanotechnology. He along with his research group at Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad Pakistan, is currently working on many a research projects related to advanced materials for various energy applications.
