EEPSEA: Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia
The Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia was established in May 1993 to support training and research in environmental and resource economics. Its goal is to strengthen local capacity for the economic analysis of environmental problems so that researchers can provide sound advice to policymakers. The program uses a networking approach to provide not only financial support but meetings, resource persons, access to literature, publication outlets, and opportunities for comparative research across its ten member countries. These are Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, China, Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka.
EEPSEA is inviting researchers from Southeast Asia to submit proposals for the November Competition. The Deadline for proposal submission is August 1. The guidelines for research proposal could be downloaded from www.eepsea.org
Research topics on any environmental concerns are welcome. EEPSEA has recently launched a research program on Economics of Adaptation (visit our website) and is still accepting proposals on this important area of concern. Topics dealing with trans-boundary issues like the haze problem from Indonesia’s forest fires and water conflicts in the Mekong Region are also encouraged. Successful applicants will be invited to present their proposals in Vietnam during the November 12-16 Biannual Meeting.
Proposals should be submitted to [email protected] on or before August 1, 2007
