The objective of the competition is to enhance environmental awareness and forest appreciation, as well as to promote FRIM, not only as a leading institute contributing to forest conservation in the region, but also as an important tourism site in the country.
The photographs must be taken around the FRIM premises in Kepong between 1 January to 28 February 2009. There are two categories of participants: Students (for those aged 13-17) and Open (above 17), and the competition is also open to foreign nationals residing in the country. The deadline for submission of entries is on 28 February, before 5pm.
Each participant is allowed a maximum of 10 photographs, submitted by post or hand-delivered to “Urusetia Pertandingan Fotografi FRIM 2009, Unit Komunikasi Korporat, Institut Penyelidikan Perhutanan Malaysia (FRIM), 52109 Kepong, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia”.
Winners will each receive a certificate of participation plus the following prizes:
Open Category:
First prize: RM 2,000
Second prize: RM 1,500
Third prize: RM1,000
10 Consolation Prizes: RM300 each
Student Category:
First prize: RM 1,000
Second prize: RM 750
Third prize: RM 500
10 Consolation Prizes: RM150 each
