Press Release - USM represents Malaysia at 'Open Jive Regional Challenge 2009'

PENANG, 9 July: After having won three awards at the national level, a group of students from the School of Computer Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia will be representing the country at the ‘Open Jive Regional Challenge’, where they will be competing with other countries in Southeast Asia.

The group, comprising team members Tan Choo Jun, Ang Wai Heng and Chan Siau Mei and assisted by Dr. Chan Huah Yong, a lecturer at the School of Computer Sciences won the Open Jive Malaysia 2009 Award, the Technology Award and the ‘Parasoft’s Code Quality Challenge’ in the competition held at Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Club before qualifying to represent the country.

The ‘Open Jive Regional Challenge’, is expected to be held from 27-29 July 2009 at Suntech City, Singapore.

Besides Malaysia, other countries that will be participating in the challenge include Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines.
