Dr. Deng is a biomedical scientist with a special interest in bacterial virulence, including gene regulation, signalling pathways, and RNA epigenetics. He, along with his team at Deng Lab, has worked on virulence regulation in pathogens to discover new therapies against bacterial infections and has published papers on antibiotic resistance. His research with Dr. Jian Yan (CityU) can potentially facilitate the development of new drugs against the bacterium Pseudomonas syringae, a common plant pathogen that affects a wide variety of crops.
