USM and Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) in collaboration to promote next generation internet technologies

The MoA will be signed on 1st September 2009 in Penang, Malaysia. Initially, USM will establish an IPv6 Certified Network Engineer (CNE6) Training Centre by at HNUE followed by joint training programmes, post graduate exchange, sharing and promotion of training information and other programs which may benefit the region.

USM AND HANOI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION (HNUE) IN COLLABORATION TO PROMOTE NEXT GENERATION INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES

MINDEN, Penang 1st September 2009 –

The Vice-Chancellor of USM represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International Affairs) formalised a MoA with the President of HANOI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION at USM, in a ceremony witnessed by Prof Dr Sureswaran Ramadass of NAv6 and Dr. Nguyen Thi Tinh of HNUE.

This MOA outlines the collaboration activities through the sharing of the expertise in research and development; exchange of postgraduate students and joint training programmes.

Initially, USM will establish an IPv6 Certified Network Engineer (CNE6) Training Centre by at HNUE, under the Transfer of Technology (TOT) programme. USM will conduct IPv6 CNE training programme to designated HNUE personnel at HNUE’s premises. Subsequent training will be conducted by HNUE personnel.

Other collaboration activities envisages are in the area of joint training programmes, post graduate exchange, sharing and promotion of training information and any other programs which may bring benefit to the region.

USM and HNUE will establish regular video conferencing to facilitate the collaboration activities. In this regard, HNUE will execute a separate agreement with USM (through USAINS – a company wholly owned by USM) and MLabs to purchase the relevant equipment and tools to support the video conferencing system.

Additionally, an iNetmon Training, Research and Development Centre will be established. Relevant network monitoring tools and training will be provided by Usains Sdn. Bhd. in collaboration with NAV6, USM This will be affected by a separate agreement between HNUE and Usains.

We believe this collaboration will further enhance our common goals and provide leadership in promoting tools, training and research for the Next Generation Internet Technologies.
