Lingnan University in Hong Kong awards new scholarships and personalised admissions support for 2025/26 academic year

With the release of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) results on 16 July, Lingnan University is rolling out a series of admissions support initiatives to assist this year’s candidates in selecting their undergraduate programmes. In addition to expanding its personalised support services, the University is also launching a wide range of new scholarships for the 2025/26 academic year, including seven rounds of online one-on-one JUPAS consultation sessions which started in May. These initiatives will help students make informed choices before finalising their JUPAS selections.

Lingnan University hosted a ‘Chat with Professors’ zone at the 31st Hong Kong International Education and Careers Expo, attracting many students and parents interested in learning more about the University’s small-class teaching and interdisciplinary education model rooted in whole-person development.

Lingnan’s “JUPAS consultation sessions” online service allows candidates to engage in live one-on-one discussions with admissions officers from the comfort of their home. On-campus and in-person support was also provided at the 31st Hong Kong International Education and Careers Expo held from 5 to 6 July, where applicants had the opportunity to meet student ambassadors, professors, and admissions staff. These consultations enabled students to gain a deeper understanding of Lingnan’s distinctive liberal arts and science-integrated education model, programme features, exchange and internship opportunities, residential life, and future career prospects, all tailored to their individual interests and aspirations.

Lingnan University is offering 23 JUPAS undergraduate programmes in the 2025/26 academic year, covering a wide array of disciplines in the Arts, Business, Social Sciences, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Data Science. To educate a new generation of students in innovative thinking and global perspectives, Lingnan has introduced new programmes aligned with social trends and digital development - their new Social Data Science programme. From this year on, the Bachelor of Business Administration will adopt a programme-based instead of a broad-based admissions policy, enabling students to select specialisations that better align with their interests and career goals.

To attract outstanding students from around the world and contribute to Hong Kong’s development as a hub for international higher education under the “Study in Hong Kong” brand, Lingnan University is offering increased financial support to help students from diverse backgrounds thrive. Of the 23 JUPAS programmes, 16 now offer newly launched scholarships covering areas such as Philosophy, English Studies, Translation, Film and Visual Arts, Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Health and Social Services Management, Social and Public Policy Studies, Government and International Affairs, and Global Development and Sustainability. The scholarships are designed to support students exploring their potential and pursuing multifaceted growth.

Ms Margaret Cheung, Registrar of Lingnan University, said “The release of DSE results is a milestone in life, and we believe every student has unique talents and the potential to grow. Lingnan has always upheld a student-centred approach. For the new academic year, we are not only expanding our programmes and scholarships, but also strengthening both online and offline personalised support, so that students can identify their aspirations and realise their potential through their university journey. Our top global rating for ‘Quality Education’ (SDG 4) in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings is international recognition of Lingnan’s longstanding commitment to student-focused education.”

In recent years, Lingnan University has accelerated its digital transformation strategy to become a research-oriented liberal arts university with strong arts and sciences integration in the digital age. The University is committed to encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and global perspectives. Through this array of new initiatives, Lingnan continues to support each DSE candidate in discovering their strengths, unlocking opportunities, and preparing to prosper in a rapidly evolving world.
