Her outstanding contributions to public health in such a short span of time contributed significantly to her election as a Fellow in the Faculty of Public Health, Royal College of Physicians in the UK, one of only a handful of fellows from Malaysia.

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and ELS Educational Services, a worldwide institution specializing in the teaching of English, has signed a pact for the language at the UPM campus.

SERDANG, 10 June – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has teamed up with Australia's University of Newcastle to jointly offer post-graduate studies where the degrees conferred will bear the crests and authorizing signatures of the two universities.

Postgraduate fellowships are offered to female scientists by the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). Deadline for applications: 31 July 2013.

The National Institute for Materials Science in cooperation with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency are evaluating the mechanical properties of metallic materials used in liquid rocket engines for Japan's H-IIA and H-IIB launch vehicles.
