Dr. Crumlish has researched aquatic microbial diseases, specifically ones that have economic impact in global aquaculture, and potential solutions to such infectious diseases. Her studies involve the identification and pathogenesis of bacterial infections that cause outbreaks within a wide range of fish and shrimp farming systems. Among her current projects are vaccine development in farmed Pangasius catfish as an alternative to antibiotics and improvement of diagnostics for detection of infections in farmed seafood.
